2022 Summer Adventure Camp July 11 - 15

2022 Summer Adventure Camp July 11 - 15 @ Granlibakken Tahoe

8:30am - 4pm

OVFFT offers a one of a kind camp Adventure Camp! This camp involves riding mountain bikes, rafting, hanging at the lake and most importantly a ton of tramping and ramping at the Air Farm! With the air bag as our main focus, a typical day includes playing some warm up games, stretching and then getting to work. With our two trampolines, each athlete will have a chance to work on their air sense, while practicing tricks they already know and new tricks. Once they are warmed up and ready to take their tricks to the ramp, that is when the real fun begins. Skiing down plastic, flying through the air and landing on a safe surface, kids will be able to take their tricks to new levels! After the kids have jumped on the ramp for a few hours, we bike to another fun activity, whether it’s rafting* or high ropes* or hiking or swimming. Please note that using the ramp is NOT mandatory and there are plenty of training opportunities and things to do other than the ramp.

* Floating the Truckee River and High Ropes at Granlibakken are included in the cost of this camp.

The Air Farm is our off-snow training facility located near Granlibakken Resort in Tahoe City. This facility provides athletes with the opportunity to train on our own Bag Jump air bag, trampolines, dirt moguls, and a slack line. The air bag is an amazing tool that athletes can use to gain repetition with airs they already know and learn new ones. The landing acts as a giant cushion, helping athletes avoid injury and providing an opportunity to try tricks that they only dreamed about before. The Air Farm also has two fly bed trampolines on site. These trampolines help athletes gain air awareness and learn tricks before taking them to the bag. These trampolines are not your ordinary backyard trampoline and allow for greater height for greater progression. A new addition this year is our dual dirt mogul course. This idea was borrowed from Jonny Moseley when he was training for the 1998 Winter Olympics, where he won a gold medal. This dual dirt mogul course is used for quickness, agility, technique and endurance. This challenging course allows for athletes to race each up or down the course. Lastly, the Air Farm has a slack line to help kids improve their balance and body awareness. All of these tools are what every freestyle skier needs to be the best. We are very fortunate to have this facility in our backyard and be able to train even when there isn’t any snow.

Don’t forget to bring the following every day:

  • Ski Gear for Ramping (old skis for ramping NOT dirt moguls, boots, helmet, & mouth guard)
  • Water Bottles
  • Packed Lunch & Snacks
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Towel & Swim Stuff
  • Water Shoes
  • Mountain Bike
Meet daily at 8:30am sharp and pick up at 4pm at the Air Farm. Air Farm location is marked with a red star on the map below.
